Ann Ortis, owner of Cajun Country Cafe’ opened over 20 years ago in Plaquemine. From modest accommodations, it grew into a thriving restaurant business. Some of the reasons for this fantastic growth include fast service, fresh home cooked “comfort” food and the overall cheerful atmosphere. Most patrons are known by their first names and the regulars most often do not have to place an order as Ann seems to know what they want. Walking into Cajun Country Cafe’ is akin to walking into one’s own kitchen. They specializes in home cooked meals and Ann serves three different plate lunches a day as well as salads, sandwiches and poboys.  Everything is home-made. If you haven’t already, give them a try.
