NOTICE: Iberville’s main exhibit is currently closed. But the rotating exhibit space, currently showing Down Home Music: Iberville and the Surrounding Parishes and the Atchafayla Basin exhibit are both open.

The Iberville Museum is located in the original “City Hall” of historic Plaquemine and is dedicated to preserving and promoting Iberville Parish heritage and culture. Built by New Orleans architect James Gallier in 1848, the museum features artifacts from parish residents of the 19th and 20th century. Visit to find out the connection between the Model-T Ford and Iberville Parish and much more on the history and culture of the parish. Admission is $1 for children and $2 for adults. Group tours available by reservation only.

Currently, only the Atchafalaya Exhibit is open, and by appointment only. The Main Exhibit remains closed for renovations until Spring 2026.
